Alty B aims to ‘nice up’ the vibe in Canadian dancehall with return SINGLE

alty b nice up in yaby Jodee Brown

After taking an extended break from the music scene, internationally recognized recording artist, Alty B, known for his 2013 smash hit, Island Girl (feat. Richie Loop) has returned with a proverbial call to arms, shooting lyrics aimed at bringing back a positive vibe to dancehall across the Greater Toronto Area and Canada with his new SINGLE, Nice Up In Yah.
With the Canadian dancehall scene in need of a mainstream boost, Alty B speaks on many of its promising talents that have shown flashes of their talents, but have seldom been heard from in recent times. With ‘no vindictive feelings’ being expressed, as the song’s intro indicates, Nice Up in Yah mentions friends and fellow acts such as Eyesus, Sample King, Ziggy Eva Strap, Blessed and Lindo P as he openly wonders why Canadian dancehall fans have not seen much from some of the familiar names within the LOCAL industry.
The Island Girl singer ponders why ‘from when Five Star nuh sing bout di gyal dem, Badda Squad? nuh hear from way back when,” as he looks for answers as to why the scene is not as vibrant as it once was. Furthermore, he addresses fans who have questioning his own hiatus from the music scene as he reveals the birth of his first child played a major role as he put family first before deciding to make his triumphant return.
Featuring the combination of a pulsating beat and Alty’s vibrant PERSONALITY, Nice Up In Yah is a charge to bring back the energy and dedication to Canadian dancehall that it so desperately needs, with the always-ambitious entertainer willing to step to the forefront to lead said charge.
Produced by fellow Jamaica COLLEGE alum, Ramus and Brampton-based Unit One Recording, this track is simple but effective with its motivation; a chance to rejuvenate interest this popular genre across the GTA and garner attention from the necessary industry players to again put Canadian dancehall on the map. With a mixtape in the works and other projects to come, Alty B aims to ‘nice up’ the scene again through his music

About DJ Suppa Natty (Biography)

Are you looking for a top-ranked DJ?

At the age of five, Suppa Natty, born in a family of musicians, developed a true passion for music. Both of his parents loved music, and his sister and mother are professional singers.

Music grew to be a part of him and inevitably, would lead to his career in the music and entertainment industry. As a singer, promoter and disc jockey, he made his mark on the map at a very young age.

He later used the name Suppa Natty and has penetrated the mainstream dancehall reggae sector, promoting events and playing with major artists such as Beres Hammond, Capleton and Lady Saw. Through the years, he has gained a lot of supporters, and an extensive variety of people come out just to hear him play.

Born in Canada to Jamaican parents, Suppa Natty has remained true to his Jamaican roots. He started using his networking and event planning skills at a very young age to promote basement dances and parties with various sounds and artists like Silver Star, Lindo P., Barry Culture, and many more.

Although Suppa Natty found contentment in this, he desired to be more involved with the actual music playing, so at the age of 13, along with Bigga, he co-founded Soul Beat Sound. Later, Soul Beat would merge with King Kris to create Black Diamond.

This transition was the beginning of Suppa Natty’s explosion on the Reggae scene. Black Diamond left an impression, or as Jamaicans would say, “dem done di place” anywhere they played.

As anyone in any business or the music business is aware of, before reaching full potential, you go through a series of transformations. Suppa Natty is not an exception; later, he left Black Diamond to play with One Draw.

He would find himself, in this season, playing a lot of big dances with sounds like King Turbo, Military, Black Reaction, and many more. Also, he played for successful artists like Admiral Tibet and Cujo Banton, just to mention a few examples.

The chance to branch out quickly came. Suppa Natty felt the need to go solo after 3 years with One Draw. The “Suppa Natty” style of playing was the start of this venture, a period for him to come into his own.

“Mashing up” the place wherever he played and genuinely versatile, he developed from strictly being a reggae DJ and started playing for wider audiences. Though his primary love is still reggae, he delights in playing other music genres.

Suppa Natty has discovered his niche, and he is creating a difference in the reggae music industry in Canada. He has performed shows with the following:

• Lady Saw
• Baby Cham
• Capleton
• Laden
• Elephant Man
• Gregory Iaacss
• Junior Reid
• John Holt
• Rich Boy
• Joe Budden
• Royce 5’9
• Stone Love
• Collie Buddz
• Chinese Assassin
• Mr. Vegas
• Clinton Sparks
• Queen Ifrica
• Ding Dong
• D12
• Clipse
• Mad Squad (from Jamaica)
• England’s reggae ambassador, David Rodigan
• Munga, and the list goes on

At Caribana 2008, Suppa Natty had his own float and was nominated Reggae DJ of the Year for 2009 and 2010 Stylus Awards. Suppa Natty is on the move and won’t be looking back.

With new doors open for him, he has a vision to carry his name global.

Toronto’s Finest Dancehall Reggae artists ready to BUSS di place at All Canadian Stage Show

The All Canadian Stage Show explodes on the scene featuring some of Toronto’s best new Dancehall artists as well as more established Toronto deejays

by TorontoDeejays.com

With a line up of over 20 of Toronto’s finest up and coming deejays rearing to perform this Friday night (Nov 8) in the city’s North West, BUSS: The All Canadian Stage Show is primed to be a huge success.

When the doors open at 10PM on Friday night,  the increasingly popular On The Rox Nightclub will undoubtedly be the best place for Toronto’s Dancehall fans to be. The night’s entertainment is nearly endless with acclaimed local deejays such as Eyesus, Sample King, Lindo P, Korexion, J Logix, Reese Badda, Fyah Lion, Triston Fivestar, and many others on the roster. Toronto’s top media outlets such as IETV, TorontoDeejays TV, ReggaeXclusive Magazine and others will cover the event.

The final show rehearsal this past Wednesday night received an overwhelming attendance by local deejays at various stages in their careers. Many were not slated to perform but came out to support their fellow artists and the growing Dancehall movement happening in Toronto. Event promoters include Mike “Yellow” Smith and Sandra Slyburne amongst others. The team is anticipating strong attendance and plan to make BUSS an annual event.

After receiving mild criticism for the chosen name of the event, Slyburne posted the following on Facebook to help clarify the intent behind the stage show: “BUSS, for those who are referring to the notion that artists can’t make it Canada, please note the show is not about making it Canada in reference to “as a reggae artists”. The show is simply put together by some Canadian business men who decided we should also appreciate our homegrown talent and named it the All Canadian Stage Show. The show is to encourage and build their esteem/artistic ability and provide a forum for this. The point is they live here, a stage show is planned and they are just looking for support and nothing else! I hope this clears up any confusion!”

With a purpose to genuinely inspire and encourage local deejays, the team behind the event has gained the attention and support of like-minded business people and organizations in the city including TorontoDeejays.com

The creators of BUSS would like to thank all of the artists and sponsors that have been involved in the planning and preparation of the first-ever All Canadian Stage Show.
