Popcaan not a part of newly formed crew, says Tommy Lee

PG13 artiste, Tommy Lee says that fellow ex Portmore Empire member, Popcaan isn’t a member of the newly formed crew

Following the recent disbanding of the Portmore Empire by their leader, Vybz Kartel, many fans have speculated whether or not Popcaan remains a part of the ‘Gaza.’ After an interview with fellow ex-Empire deejay, Tommy Lee, that speculation is sure to grow.

Tommy Lee gave an interview on Friday morning with Young Lion on BBC 1Xtra’s Dancehall M1X in which he addressed a few subjects, including the newly formed PG13 label.Tommy Lee and Gaza Slim announced their participation within the new group during a statement that Vybz Kartelissued regarding the Portmore Empire’s disbandment as the self-professed Worl’ Boss insisted that his protégés were more than capable of handling their own careers going forward.

According to Tommy LeeVybz Kartel was the brainchild behind PG13 but was encouraged by ‘Di Teacha’ to lead the group until Kartel returns.

When asked by Young Lion about Popcaan’s status within the Gaza camp, Tommy Lee intimated that though he and theParty Shot deejay are on good terms, the self-proclaimedGaza Prefect isn’t a part of PG13.
“Popcaan now u done know…not really still. Mi and Popcaan good still enuh but him nuh really a part a di crew right now. A just me and Gaza Slim,” he said.

With regards to Popcaan’s position in the Gaza, Tommy Lee said, “Mi nuh wan’ really seh certain tings right now.”

Popcaan has yet to speak publicly regarding the disbandment of the Portmore Empire while many rumors were sparked in recent weeks that Informer, a collaborative effort by Tommy Lee and Vybz Kartel was aimed at the Only Man She Want deejay.

Meanwhile, Tommy Lee will be performing in the United Kingdom this weekend as he embarks on the Gaza Man Crazy, No Wi Insane tour. The Psycho deejay will perform atClub Da Boss in London on Friday as well as other scheduled shows in Liverpool and Wolverhampton over the next week.
