Konshens joins forces with VP Records through hit single

Subkonshus Music recording artiste, Konshens has scored an exclusive deal with VP Records for his single, ‘Gal A Bubble.’

Internationally acclaimed Dancehall/Reggae superstar, Konshens continues his ascendancy on the overseas market as he’s inked a deal with prominent, New York based Reggae label, VP Records.

With 2012 arguably being Konshens’ most successful year yet, producing smash hits like Stop Sign and Bad Gal, the versatile artiste has signed an exclusive contract with VP Records for another highly rated single, Gal a Bubble, which has been tipped by many as Dancehall’s hottest song this year. This deal, which focuses primarily on licensing and distribution, comes after the Reggae label had Konshens on their radar for a while and were also impressed by the deejay’s management team, comprised of Miguel ‘Kitten’ Noble and Aranthes Lewin.

Speaking of how this agreement developed, Konshens told the Jamaica Gleaner, “The song picked up steam in the US, after doing its rounds in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean. It grabbed VP’s attention and they reached out to me and presented a nice opportunity that was good for my career and for the success of the song, that’s basically how the deal came about.”

Gal A Bubble has topped several charts locally and internationally over recent months and has become the standout single on Konshens’ most recent album, Mental Maintenance, which has topped several digital charts worldwide.

VP Records is renowned for helping to launch the careers of several Jamaican acts on the international market, such as Buju Banton, Sean Paul and Beenie Man; doing so through their exclusive deals with Atlantic Records and Virgin Music Canada.
