Internationally acclaimed Dancehall/Reggae singer, Tarrus Riley will slowly but surely be introducing his sophomore compilation to the mainstream as he plans to unveil his second album later this month.
Mecoustic, the newest effort from Riley, will be released in select markets on April 17 before its international release on June 26. The 15 track album features many strong efforts from Riley such as She’s Royal, Africa Awaits, Marcus Garvey and If It’s Jah Will, for which a video was unleashed earlier this month. Riley’s new collaboration will be unveiled via French record label, Soulbeats Records.
The Shaka Zulu Pickney singer insists that this acoustic project hails as his most personal to date, stating, via press release that Mecoustic will trigger lots of memories for his fans.
“We have some new songs and some old songs, and revisiting the old songs brought back memories. The whole experience of putting this project together was a learning experience again. These are songs that are very special and personal,” he said.
“This is like good food; real, rich quality music. This is something you want to have in your music collection.”
Mecoustic will be Riley’s first album since Contagious in 2009 which featured hits such as Human Nature, Love’s Contagious and Good Girl Gone Bad (featuring Konshens).
